The Real Truth about The Alchemist Café

Much has been said about our beloved café. Rumors of closing, demolishing the venue, and all sort of things that come from the news that was published in past weeks.

The venue known as The Eucalyptus Garden (aka The Yard) has been sold to Kaplan Residential, LLC to develop a beautiful residential complex. The ground breaking will happen on the summer of 2024. Some months after or before, it is not certain when exactly it will happen. City permits and all sort of situations that are typical of a project of this magnitude will determine when. The project consists of apartment buildings, a multi-level parking, a dog park, retail stores and a truly walkable venue.

As everybody knows, The Alchemist Café is the anchor establishment of the venue. For this reason, we will be moving just a few steps from our actual location. It is actually a cute house in the back of our café that will be transformed as The Alchemist Café for the time the construction lasts. As soon as the construction ends, we will be moving back to the same place we are now in a new restaurant custom built for The Alchemist Café.

In other words, we are not going anywhere.

The Alchemist Café is here for good. With more than 10 years in this community, the amazing number of friends we serve have become real friends. Then the dogs and cats that come and live freely with their owners, the superb reviews that we read every day, the simple and relax conversations with clients allowing us to be part of their lives are all amazing experiences that have surpassed our wildest expectations for a decade.

The Alchemist Café is more than a business. Way more. It is a way of life, a destination, a place where 4 books have been written, it is the place where you can see someone in distress and some other soul praying for her. It is a café for doctors, architects, students, writers, husbands and wives, their kids, cat lovers, dogs that own the floors, Yes, we are here. We will be here. We are staying here.

As a newbie, I fell in love with your vibe. I’m hoping the new construction does not force you guys to lose the garden lushness that is so well-established. I live in Fort Lauderdale part time when I am not living in East Naples. I always look forward to your amazing current place when I am here. 🤞 It’s perfect as-is.

Wonderful news. I hope they don’t take down the beautiful Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees that are on the property.
